Wanted to share our three month picture of Shaun! He is almost as big as his elephant now! Our next doctors appt is at 4 months so my measurement for the month isn't going to be quite as accurate but I hopped on the scale with him this morning and he came in at 12.5 lbs. That's a 2 lb gain from last month which would put him right on track. They say the average is a .5lb weight gain per week. Not sure on the length but I know he is getting taller because his pants are all getting shorter :)
A place for friends and family to keep up with the ever exciting life of Mike, Kris, Shaun and Jake. But if we are being completely honest here...mostly it's all about Shaunie!!!

Happy New Year!!!
So I've been a little bit of a slacker on keeping the blog updated. We have been out of town for the past two weeks so December was nothing short of hectic. We drove up to Pittsburgh for Christmas to see my family and after one night back at home jumped back in the car to drive down to Tampa and spend the rest of our vacation with Mike's family. It was wonderful to see everyone and spend time with friends and family. Shaun's first Christmas was a definite success!!!
Can you believe Shaun is 3 months old?!?! It has been so much fun to watch him change and grow. He is nothing but smiles these days and we think he is on the verge of a giggle. We are counting down the moments until we can hear our little boy laugh. I can only imagine the smile it will bring to my face. He is quite the wiggle worm these days. We are constantly rotating him from his chair, to his mat, to his swing....he is always wanting something new to look at and discover and it can be quite exhausting at times to keep him entertained.
He got sick for the first time while we were up in Pittsburgh. Mike and I gave him our cold. It was absolutely heartbreaking to watch him struggle to breath. He was so stuffed up. After days of sleepless nights, saline drops and a humidifier, he finally came around and seems to be almost back to normal. However, I think him being sick messed up his sleeping schedule. We are back to getting up once a night and it is starting to take its toll. I'm exhausted!!!!
I go back to work full time next week which means the time has come...Shaun starts daycare. I am taking Monday off to spend one more day with Shaun and then Mike and I will take him together on Tuesday morning. More to come on how I handle that one...YIKES!
I will leave you with some pictures from the holiday. Wishing all of our family and friends a safe and happy new year. We look forward to sharing our journey with you as we continue to watch our little boy grow!

Shaun's first 5K!
Over the weekend Mike and I decided to take Shaun on his first Jingle Bell Run 5K. What a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. Over 3000 runners and walkers all with jingle bells on their shoes! We are hoping to make it a Scaglione Christmas tradition. Although Shaun slept through most of it, we hope he had as much fun as we did :)

Good morning!
One of my favorite times to sneak up and watch Shaun is in the morning when he has just woken up. He has an elephant mobile in his crib that he talks to and smiles at every single morning. It is just too cute! This morning I was lucky enough to catch a few moments on video so I thought I would share. He does have a little choking episode in the video which is not unusual for him. Didn't want anyone to think I was overlooking it :)

New videos of Shaun!
Wanted to post some new videos of Shaun for everyone. We think he may have discovered his hands today as you'll see in the second video. I could just eat him up!!! Enjoy!

Tummy time!
So we've been working on tummy time with Shaun a lot since Grandma's been here. Some days he likes it. And then there's other days where he's just not interested. As you can see below...today was one of those days :)

10 weeks today!
I can't believe how much Shaun is changing. He is becoming so vocal and so interactive. I feel like he is going to laugh any day now. We are having so much fun with him.
His two month appt was last week. He got two shots and think I may have cried more than he did. I had to look away. Seeing my little angel in so much pain just broke my heart. His weight was 10 lb 6 oz. and he is 23 inches long. Doctor said he is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. Sounded a little small to us but the pediatrician is happy with the way he is growing so we were pleased! I am including his two month picture below. If you compare it to his one month picture you will see he has grown so much!
Went back to work last week. My mom flew into town and is watching Shaun for us during the day for the next two weeks. I am working three days a week for now and will go back full time in January. The transition hasn't been too bad since I am leaving him at home with his Grandma. I am dreading January. Dropping him off at daycare is going to just kill me.
It has been so much fun to watch my mom with him. Mike and I think he may be giving her more smiles than he gives us! She is so good with him and I am so happy that they are getting to spend time together. We are so thankful to have her here!!!
