Over the weekend Mike and I decided to take Shaun on his first Jingle Bell Run 5K. What a great way to get in the Christmas spirit. Over 3000 runners and walkers all with jingle bells on their shoes! We are hoping to make it a Scaglione Christmas tradition. Although Shaun slept through most of it, we hope he had as much fun as we did :)
A place for friends and family to keep up with the ever exciting life of Mike, Kris, Shaun and Jake. But if we are being completely honest here...mostly it's all about Shaunie!!!

Good morning!
One of my favorite times to sneak up and watch Shaun is in the morning when he has just woken up. He has an elephant mobile in his crib that he talks to and smiles at every single morning. It is just too cute! This morning I was lucky enough to catch a few moments on video so I thought I would share. He does have a little choking episode in the video which is not unusual for him. Didn't want anyone to think I was overlooking it :)

New videos of Shaun!
Wanted to post some new videos of Shaun for everyone. We think he may have discovered his hands today as you'll see in the second video. I could just eat him up!!! Enjoy!

Tummy time!
So we've been working on tummy time with Shaun a lot since Grandma's been here. Some days he likes it. And then there's other days where he's just not interested. As you can see below...today was one of those days :)

10 weeks today!
I can't believe how much Shaun is changing. He is becoming so vocal and so interactive. I feel like he is going to laugh any day now. We are having so much fun with him.
His two month appt was last week. He got two shots and think I may have cried more than he did. I had to look away. Seeing my little angel in so much pain just broke my heart. His weight was 10 lb 6 oz. and he is 23 inches long. Doctor said he is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. Sounded a little small to us but the pediatrician is happy with the way he is growing so we were pleased! I am including his two month picture below. If you compare it to his one month picture you will see he has grown so much!
Went back to work last week. My mom flew into town and is watching Shaun for us during the day for the next two weeks. I am working three days a week for now and will go back full time in January. The transition hasn't been too bad since I am leaving him at home with his Grandma. I am dreading January. Dropping him off at daycare is going to just kill me.
It has been so much fun to watch my mom with him. Mike and I think he may be giving her more smiles than he gives us! She is so good with him and I am so happy that they are getting to spend time together. We are so thankful to have her here!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving! We spent the holiday down in Tampa with Mike's family. A busy but wonderful couple of days. Mike and I are slowly starting to realize just how difficult it is to travel with a baby. Thinking next year we may just stay put and have everyone come to us!
Shaun hit the two month mark on Friday. It is going so fast!!! Everyone keeps saying how big he is getting and how much he has changed in the past month. We go to the doctor in two days so I will be back then to report his stats :)
I wanted to share some photos with you that my friend Juliet took for us over the weekend as our baby gift. They turned out beautiful and I am so happy she was able to capture Shaun at his two month mark. Enjoy!

Shaun meets Santa!
I just had to share this picture with everyone. We took Shaun to meet Santa for the first time yesterday. I took this with my cell phone but we ended up buying a few as well. We just couldn't resist his sweet face. Not a single tear was shed! He must love Christmas just like his dad. Thanks goes out to Grandma (my mom) for the adorable hat!!!
As for other news...Shaun is finally starting to settle into a routine. Which has been wonderful for Mike and I...helps us plan our days a little better. He is sleeping 8-9 hours consistently every night. I am in heaven! Let's hope this keeps up. It's hard to believe Shaun will be two months old this week. He is changing and growing so quickly. I can't keep up! His little smiles melt my heart and I am loving watching him develop his little personality.
I go back to work next week and just the thought of it makes me cringe. I don't want to leave him!!!! My mom gets in on Tuesday and will be staying with us for two weeks. We don't start daycare until January and for that I am thankful. I am just not ready. Somebody better be waiting for me with a box of tissues the first day I have to drop him off. Mike and I have actually talked that it might be a better idea if he drops him off instead of me. I think that may have to be the plan or else I might just end up chickening out.
We are looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with Mike's family this week. Can't wait for everyone to see how much Shaun has changed in the past month. Wishing all of you a very happy holiday!!!

Shaun on his activity mat...he loves it!
So we've been using this mat for a while but we just put batteries in the bee today. What a difference. I honestly think he could stay in this all day and be happy. He hasn't stopped smiling. You should be able to catch a few smiles throughout the video. Enjoy!

Shaunie smiles!
So I've been trying to catch a smile on camera or video. I know this one is a little blurry but it's the best I've been able to do up to this point. Guess I need a camera that snaps pictures more quickly because every time he smiles it's gone before I can capture it! It melts me heart each time he does it. I have found that when I sing to him it's a sure way to get him to grin. There was quite a bit of singing and faces going on when this picture was taken.
Things here are going well. Tonight Mike and I are going out to dinner for the first time without Shaun. Tomorrow is our anniversary and our neighbor offered to watch him tonight so that we could go out and celebrate. I am so excited for a night out alone but I am getting a little nervous about leaving him. We'll see how this goes!!!
Shaun is getting bigger by the day. Finally had to pack away all of his newborn clothes and graduate him into 0-3 months. I was surprised at how sad it made me. My little man is growing up! We have been trying to get him into some sort of nighttime routine. So far it's been working well. Bath time is his favorite. Followed by a feeding and a book. He has been sleeping for 6-7 hours since we started this new schedule so hopefully he will keep it up. It has been nice to get some sleep!

Shaun's new hat!
So it has been unusually warm in Jax the past couple of weeks. Some days it has been close to 90! Finally a front has started to make it's way through and we are supposed to get down to the 40's this weekend...WHOOPEE!!!! I love the cooler weather.
Tonight Shaun and I went for a walk and I just had to share a picture of him in his new hat. It's a pilot hat with bear ears on it....too cute!!!

Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween everyone! Wanted to share some pictures of Shaun's first Halloween. He dressed up as a bat. And I have to admit...he was the cutest bat EVER!!! We sat out front with some of our neighbors and drank sangria while handing out candy to the trick or treaters. It was a good night :)
He had his one month checkup this week. Weighed in at 9 lbs and is 21 inches long. Doctor said he is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. So he's just a little guy but I'm sure he will do a lot of growing in the coming months. Can you believe he is 5 weeks old today?!?!?! I am just so in love with my little man.

It's hard to believe Shaun is one month old today. Having trouble uploading a video for some reason so I am linking it to YouTube. Hopefully that will work and I can figure this video thing out for the next one. Also including a picture of Shaun in his nursery at one month old. Thought I would take a picture in this chair each month next to the elephant so you can see how much he is growing. I think I may have even gotten a smile from him for one of the pics :)

Shaun goes to Tampa!
Shaun continues to amaze me each and every day. How did I get so lucky?!?! And did I mention that he is the BEST baby!!! Now I know I have nothing to compare it to and I may be a little bias but it just seems that every time we throw something new at him, he takes it like a champ!
We spent the weekend in Tampa with Mike's family. Mike and I were both a little concerned about the 4 hour car ride down. But Shaun slept the whole way. Both on the ride down and the ride back to Jax! He also started sleeping 7 hours at a time this weekend! Mike and I are in heaven. I had my best two nights of sleep in a very long time on Saturday and Sunday.
It was quite a busy weekend. We spent time with Mike's mom Susan, Carmino and Linda, Meme and Pepe and Kristin and Connor. It was so nice to introduce Shaun to Mike's side of the family. I love seeing him surrounded by friends and family that I know will love him as much as we do.
Here are some pics from the weekend! Enjoy!

Well we are officially a family of three! Okay...four (I can't forget about Jake!). Shaun was three weeks old on Sunday. It's hard to believe that he will be a month old next week! Where does the time go???
So I have decided to start a blog so that family and friends that live far away can keep up with our new life as parents and can watch little Shaun as he grows and changes.Although I had a baby website I am new to this whole blogging thing so bear with me.
A quick update on me...
As most of you know, after 20 hours of labor I ended up with a c-section. Shaun was born at 9:56pm on September 26...one day before my due date. He was 7lbs 5 oz and 19 inches long. Although I am feeling great now, the recovery was a little rougher than I had expected. Nothing worse than hearing your baby cry at night and not being able to sit up to go to him without having someone help you. The first week was the worst. I don't know what I would have done without Mike and my family helping me.
Fast forward three weeks and I am feeling great. Still a little tender around my incision but all in all I feeling almost back to normal. I still have 4 more weeks before I am cleared to exercise and that has been a little frustrating. But Mike and I have been taking walks with Shaun so at least I am able to do that.
Now on to more important things...SHAUN!!! Motherhood has been an adjustment to say the least. It's amazing how quickly and drastically your life changes when you have a baby. I think at first it was all a little overwhelming to me. But now I am finally feeling like I am getting into a routine and I am enjoying every minute with my little boy. He is already changing so much. In the past week he has gone from being a baby that sleeps all day to having these 3 hour stretches of awake time. It's so cute to see him starting to discover things. The fan, his mobile in his crib, my face...I just love looking into his baby blue eyes. He's sleeping really well at night too. I feel so blessed to have such a good baby. He generally gets up once a night to eat...sometimes twice. And Mike has been such a big help. I don't know what I would do without him.
Well I know I will have plenty of time to update you more so for now I will sign off. Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you! Lots of love!!!
