Happy Halloween everyone! Wanted to share some pictures of Shaun's first Halloween. He dressed up as a bat. And I have to admit...he was the cutest bat EVER!!! We sat out front with some of our neighbors and drank sangria while handing out candy to the trick or treaters. It was a good night :)
He had his one month checkup this week. Weighed in at 9 lbs and is 21 inches long. Doctor said he is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 50th percentile for height. So he's just a little guy but I'm sure he will do a lot of growing in the coming months. Can you believe he is 5 weeks old today?!?!?! I am just so in love with my little man.
A place for friends and family to keep up with the ever exciting life of Mike, Kris, Shaun and Jake. But if we are being completely honest here...mostly it's all about Shaunie!!!

It's hard to believe Shaun is one month old today. Having trouble uploading a video for some reason so I am linking it to YouTube. Hopefully that will work and I can figure this video thing out for the next one. Also including a picture of Shaun in his nursery at one month old. Thought I would take a picture in this chair each month next to the elephant so you can see how much he is growing. I think I may have even gotten a smile from him for one of the pics :)

Shaun goes to Tampa!
Shaun continues to amaze me each and every day. How did I get so lucky?!?! And did I mention that he is the BEST baby!!! Now I know I have nothing to compare it to and I may be a little bias but it just seems that every time we throw something new at him, he takes it like a champ!
We spent the weekend in Tampa with Mike's family. Mike and I were both a little concerned about the 4 hour car ride down. But Shaun slept the whole way. Both on the ride down and the ride back to Jax! He also started sleeping 7 hours at a time this weekend! Mike and I are in heaven. I had my best two nights of sleep in a very long time on Saturday and Sunday.
It was quite a busy weekend. We spent time with Mike's mom Susan, Carmino and Linda, Meme and Pepe and Kristin and Connor. It was so nice to introduce Shaun to Mike's side of the family. I love seeing him surrounded by friends and family that I know will love him as much as we do.
Here are some pics from the weekend! Enjoy!

Well we are officially a family of three! Okay...four (I can't forget about Jake!). Shaun was three weeks old on Sunday. It's hard to believe that he will be a month old next week! Where does the time go???
So I have decided to start a blog so that family and friends that live far away can keep up with our new life as parents and can watch little Shaun as he grows and changes.Although I had a baby website I am new to this whole blogging thing so bear with me.
A quick update on me...
As most of you know, after 20 hours of labor I ended up with a c-section. Shaun was born at 9:56pm on September 26...one day before my due date. He was 7lbs 5 oz and 19 inches long. Although I am feeling great now, the recovery was a little rougher than I had expected. Nothing worse than hearing your baby cry at night and not being able to sit up to go to him without having someone help you. The first week was the worst. I don't know what I would have done without Mike and my family helping me.
Fast forward three weeks and I am feeling great. Still a little tender around my incision but all in all I feeling almost back to normal. I still have 4 more weeks before I am cleared to exercise and that has been a little frustrating. But Mike and I have been taking walks with Shaun so at least I am able to do that.
Now on to more important things...SHAUN!!! Motherhood has been an adjustment to say the least. It's amazing how quickly and drastically your life changes when you have a baby. I think at first it was all a little overwhelming to me. But now I am finally feeling like I am getting into a routine and I am enjoying every minute with my little boy. He is already changing so much. In the past week he has gone from being a baby that sleeps all day to having these 3 hour stretches of awake time. It's so cute to see him starting to discover things. The fan, his mobile in his crib, my face...I just love looking into his baby blue eyes. He's sleeping really well at night too. I feel so blessed to have such a good baby. He generally gets up once a night to eat...sometimes twice. And Mike has been such a big help. I don't know what I would do without him.
Well I know I will have plenty of time to update you more so for now I will sign off. Looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you! Lots of love!!!
