Long overdue!!!

I am sooooooo behind on this blog! It has been the craziest couple of weeks. We have been so busy! We repainted the house, re sodded the yard, are in the process of redecorating two rooms and I was out of town for an entire week for work! The weeks have flown by and I am sure you are dying to see new pics and videos of Shaun! Sorry to keep you waiting :)
Well let's just start by saying he is growing like a weed. We call him our little pork chop. You should see the belly on this boy! He eats so much!!! His favorite food these days is called the Superfoods Puree. It's ground turkey, onion, spinach and sweet potato. He cried when it's all gone. We have been working protein into his diet for about 6 weeks now and he seems to love it! Now that I think about it, I don't think there has been a single food he hasn't loved! Well....other than that early video of the avocado!
He has two teeth coming in on the bottom. This made for some very rough and sleepless nights in the Scaglione household. I am including a picture below to show them off. It has been so hard to capture a picture where you can see them. But last night I finally got a smile big enough to show them off.
He is finally sleeping through the night. For a while there he would wake up wanting a pacifier and he still has his bad nights every once in a while but as a whole, we are all getting a good night's sleep.
He is a very busy boy. Gets bored easily so we are constantly moving him from one toy to the next. He is really starting to love books. We read him a couple each day. As for crawling, I feel like it could happen any day now. But I think most days he is just content hanging out on the floor. He will get up on his knees and rock back and forth but will quickly lose interest and lay back down on his belly.
I hopped on the scale this morning to see how much he weighs and we are right at 20 lbs. Not sure where that falls on the percentile scale but he sure feels heavy! I actually had to get a cortisone shot in my wrist two weeks ago because of my little chunky monkey. Turns out I developed tendonitis in my left wrist from picking him up. Orthopedic said a lot of new moms get it. Wish someone would have warned me how much a cortisone shot hurts! OUCH!!! So that's my update for now. Enjoy the pics and videos below. You will be shocked at how big he has gotten!!!

Big eyes!

Check out my new teeth!!!

Loves bathtime!

Happy Mother's Day!

How blessed I feel to be celebrating Mother's Day! I am so very thankful for my beautiful baby boy. He is the absolute light of my life! Hope everyone had a nice weekend and got the chance to spend it with someone they love. Mike's mom came up to visit for the weekend. We spent the weekend playing with Shaun and running around Jax. Had a wonderful brunch this morning. Such a beautiful day here!
I felt thankful to spend the day with my son and my mother in law but was definitely missing the most important woman in my life today...my mom! There is no one more amazing, more caring, more thoughtful or more loving than her. I am so thankful to have a mother that I can count on and confide in. Someone who I know will always be there for me no matter what. Mom, I love you more and more each and every day. I am so lucky to be your daughter and I hope you know that our relationship means the world to me. I love you and miss you so much!!!! Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Happy 7 months to my sweet angel!

Time continues to fly and Shaun is growing like a weed! His head is finally covered in the softest blond hair. And I'm finally convinced that those beautiful blue eyes are here to stay. He has started babbling in the past week and it is non-stop. I am pretty sure he has said "dada" but I won't admit that to Mike! I am holding out for the day he says "mama." Only then will I admit that he has truly said his first word :) As you can tell from the video below, he is still doing his best to crawl but is having no luck. I think we still have a ways to go.
We have been extremely busy lately. Mike has been working really long hours and my job is picking up as we are getting ready to launch a new diabetes medication. We went up to Atlanta over the weekend to watch our niece, Samantha, make her first communion. It was so much fun to watch Shaun with his cousins. Everyone couldn't believe how much he has changed since his baptism. Which was only a month ago!!! I am including some pics from the weekend. Hope you enjoy!

Shaun's 1st Easter

Just wanted to share some pictures from Shaun's first Easter! Although we were sad that we couldn't be with family, we had a wonderful day with our friends Tyler and Lauren and their little girl, Avery. Shaun wore his first necktie and I have to say, he looked pretty darn cute!!! See for yourself!!!

New bath toy!

Thought you might enjoy this new video of Shaun in the bathtub. He got an Easter basket from his Grandma and this fun fountain toy was inside. Tonight was the first bath using it and he smiled and played the whole time! Good buy Mom!!!! Thanks!
Shaun is doing great! Hard to believe he will be 7 months next week! As you can tell from the pictures and videos he is loving sitting up. We can put him on the floor with a couple of toys and he will entertain himself which has been great! We have been trying to encourage crawling but he has never been a big fan of tummy time so it isn't looking like we will have a mover anytime soon. Which is fine with us! We are dreading having to baby proof this house!!!
Shaun has also become quite the eater! If you couldn't tell from the oatmeal video, he is quite a fan of food!!! I am still making my own baby food. Mike and I take a few hours every Sunday and spend it in the kitchen peeling and chopping as we prepare his food for the week. So far he has tried apples, pears, bananas, plums, carrots, peas, butternut squash and sweet potato. Just this week we introduced him to chicken. Used a recipe out of a baby puree book. Sauteed it with some sweet potato, apple, onion and spices. The consistency of chicken when put in a food processor is a little disturbing but no surprise...Shaun LOVED it!!! The ladies at his daycare say that he "has quite the appetite for a boy his age." And don't I know it! Most nights he cries after dinner wanting us to make more!
We are looking forward to dressing him up in his shirt and tie for Easter this weekend. Pictures to come!!!!
